Thank you for choosing SFPC as your pet’s caretaker while you are away!
As an avid animal lover, and pet owner myself, I know just how hard it is to part with a pet as you embark on your journey. Whether you are leaving for a weekend, week, or as long as a month: Please rest assured that your pet will be taken care of. I like to think that we become a part of your family!
Why choose us? Well for a number of reasons, but first and fore-most you want your pet happy and healthy!
Hiring a pet-sitter to stay with your animals is a healthy choice because:
*Reduced Stress - Your pet stays at home on his or her own routine, in a familiar place with the sights and smells that make him or her most comfortable!
*Diet and Exercise - We feed your pet(s) on their normal routine, their regular diet, and they get to play as they are used to!
*No “Travel Trauma” - Travel can be very stressful for your pet. Changes in their routine can many times cause unneeded anxiety and can be harmful to their being.
*Alleviate Health Concerns - By keeping your pet at home there is minimal exposure to illness brought on by contact with other animals.
*T.L.C. - Your pet becomes the center of our universe! Your pet will receive lots of one-on-one attention, hugs, and play time while you are away!
As for the convenience factor:

Special Services -We can do the little things that matter as well...We can bring in your mail, water your plants, and rotate window blinds!
While you are planning your trip please keep us in mind and try to contact us at least two (2) weeks prior to your leaving... though it is possible to get care last minute. Please note, holidays, and other busy times of the year may book up fast! If I cannot accommodate your plans I will be happy to help you located a pet sitter.

Who am I?
My name is Ellen Forbes. I have been involved in animal care since childhood, and have spent my life devoted to my animals. I grew up on a farm which started in Gray, Maine, but moved in 1999 to New Gloucester, Maine, where it quickly grew.
Always an avid horse lover, I grew up in riding lessons, and horse shows. I have been in involved with horse training since I was a teenager in the sport of dressage, and am aspiring to become a certified United States Dressage Federation trainer. Along with dressage, I am training in low level eventing as well. We have seven horses now, and have been cleaning our own stalls for 12 years.
What is a farm without dogs? We have had several dogs throughout the years, and very usually we have at least five of them at a time. For a few years we did low-key animal rescue and placement, but many of the dogs ended up finding forever homes here on our serene little piece of land. At the moment we have five dogs, a Lab/Shepard, Lab/Terrier, German Shepard, Shiloh Shepard, and last but certainly not least- the Pug. We enjoy having our animals more than anything because of the joy and companionship they bring in to our lives. Recently I have started Agility training with the youngest, our Lab/Terrier, Marilyn Monroe, who absolutely loves it! We plan on doing more next year with our German Shepard, Timmy.
In addition to our horses and dogs, we have seven cats, five goats, a bunch of ducks, a rabbit, two chickens, and a few fish. We have in the past had ferrets, guinea pigs, mice, birds, a hedge hog, geese, and other assorted creatures.
